This was one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. At first I couldn't believe anyone would write a satirical book about a one-legged female sex worker suffering severe depression - and a shoe fetish. I found myself laughing out loud and feeling guilty about it, that's how convincing Constance is.
The author whips up the pace and tension when Constance is abducted by ignorant aliens who realize they got the wrong woman and dump her in a sinister inter-galactic equivalent of Watts.
Le Coeur's humor reminds me of a combination of old Goon Show scripts and Southpark. It's both irreverent, topical, and oddly, very touching.
